After returning from the sea-cave our heroes bedded down for the night after a long day of cultist killing. But even before the sun rose Loris’ sleep was disturbed, something woke her from her rest and she found herself somewhere both very unfamiliar and… also strangely familiar. She found herself in a smokey, dark, twisted version of her world following the same purple ghost she had seen before. It seemed interested in her progress and power, then Loris awoke, neck-deep in the crashing surf of the ocean quite a long way from the camp. Loris asked around and no-body had heard or sensed anything or seen her leave.
That morning Agnes and Pepper had a long walk and talk before breakfast and Agnes picked up a few survival tricks related to foraging in coastal environments.
The party headed East along the coastal road to Schooner Bay traveling most of the day before arriving at a very large town that sat on both sides of a large river that enters the bay, with two large wooden wharfs/docks on either side. One side seemed to be a vast open air market and a dock for smaller local vessels and the other dock housed larger military or merchant vessels. The party explored the open air market and then joined up with Agnes at the local stables where they met the scruffy stable owner Louverne.
Next the party climbed to the highest hill in town where a tall building called the “Silver Serpent Inn” perched above the town. On their way they met a Red Dragon-born named Captain Xershain who asked them to come listen to a plan he needed them for.
That night three of the group members returned to hear Xershain’s plan. He invited them to sail with him to the volcanic lair of the cultists to steal as much from them as they could and hopefully find out who was supporting them and why! The party would meet him the following night down at the docks.
The next day the party said good-bye to Areolas and the Paladins of the Qanna who would soon set sail for the nation’s capitol. The party also witnessed the townspeople’s frustration with their mayor over the massive shortage of ore to work with. Normally the town of StubbsVille North of SchoonerBay up the Talking River would send regular shipments of freshly mined ore but it’s mining operations had been severely slowed by some kind of trouble in the mines which left both towns largely without work. Mayor Brigsby promised that a scout had been sent and that everything would turn out OK in the end.
That night Ayla, Agnes and Loris made last minute preparations for their trip to the volcanic island and headed down to the docks…
