Our heroes bedded down for the night at the paladin’s camp. And had several hours of peaceful sleep. But a little bit after mid-night they awoke to a scream from Labeouf who had awoke from a dream. Labeouf spoke to Pepper for a bit then disappeared into the night, Loris overheard him mention a dark past with a demon who had bound his friend in a contract and then killed her. The next morning the group discussed the bounty that the paladins of the Qanna were attempting to complete. The paladins said that a total bounty of 2,800 GP was offered to them if they could clear the blight from a nearby cave. The paladins, Rapheect and Klaus, offered to split the bounty and any possibly related tip with the party if they helped to clear the cave. The party agreed and that very morning they set out to attempt to purge this cave of it’s cultist blight and any possible monsters within.
In the cave the party faced several cultists and a frog-like creature who called himself the “Claw of Xexil” After a couple heavy fights the party agreed to retreat and camp for the night and push in one more time in the morning. That night Pepper had made them all dinner and treated them to an old song that seemed to say that there was a rift, or hole in the ground beyond the wildlands.
The next morning the party infiltrated the cave again and found no resistance until they entered the last room. There they again fought this “Claw of Xexil” and several of his minions. At last they emerged victorious and searched the room around them. They discovered that the “Claw” had a dark orb that seemed to be able to tear some kind of rift in space when inserted into a statue in the cave. They found some treasure and also a prisoner. There was a very large fish in a cage in a hidden room. He called himself “Swift Fin”. The party broke open his cage and released him into the ocean. He seemed to shed a little bit of light on the nature of this “portal” At last the party returned to the camp of the paladins and received 800GP of their bounty. (That is all the paladins had on hand) and they made a plan to meet late the next night a tavern of their choosing in Schooner Bay.
