The next morning our Heroes woke to another beautiful green-lit day in The Great Tangle, and set off leaving Timna, headed for the town of Akmin further upriver. The river quickly broadened out and became slow, shallow, and swampy. The first day was uneventful except for Agnes getting swarmed by irritating insects. She spent the day huddled low in the boat or with her head hung over the edge of the boat with a greenish tint to her half-elven features.
The next morning around noon you noticed a silence hung over the swamp… and as you began to listen more closely, you caught the sounds of a battle going on in the forest somewhere ahead. Your group prepared themselves and approached. The sounds of the battle increased and a ferocious roar shook the forest, a massive beast emerged from the jungle and attacked your party with leaping strikes, powerful tail sweeps and a massive firebreath attack. After an incredible battle your party emerged victorious! Agnes rushed to the side of one of the fallen from the other party and just as she infused them wth her healing magicks, she realized that she did not have everything she needed to help a person come back to life… The rest of your party searched the jungle and only found 3 dead from that group along with a little bit of their gear. Agnes recovered a love letter from “Grog” and decided to try to find him in the next town.
After moving on further upriver your group found a town built along a hillside near a waterfall. Finally! Akmin! The last town on this jungle river before you met with Doomokos, Prescott’s boss. The town had a jewelery shop and a pet shop. Kerzha found an amulet and a ring that she could not pass up! She traded her DwarvenSteel breastplate for both items and a small diamond ring. The Amulet seemed to be pretty powerful!
As your group finished shopping a Drow noble-man met you in the streets, he sounded desperate, he asked your group to check on the mine just outside town and retrieve his workers. He offered 2000GP for the return of whoever might have survived anther attack by the Yuan-Ti. As you discussed his terms, he took a ring off of his hand and gave it to Tubbs, again asking you to hurry! The heroes agreed and looked to the hillside ahead… Trouble was brewing…
