This session you began at sea surrounded by maybe 20 Locatha that had gathered around your boat to celebrate your victory over Xexil. As you made your way away from the Shallow Grave you were approached by a grey Locatha with catfish whiskers who introduced himself as “Salloa” the chief of the Locatha. he thanked you for saving his son, again, and offered you two powerful potions that allowed two of your party to gain several aquatic benefits. After his gift he and the other Locatha dove beneath the surface and your ship approached.
As you climbed aboard the crew seemed amazed that you had survived! both Captain Telford and Julianna seemed visibly impressed. Julianna invited you below decks for dinner and a chat while the ship began moving SW towards Sic-Met.
During your dinner with Julianna your group confided in her everything that the Mouth of Xexil had said and showed her evidence of the size and power of the creature that you had killed. Julianna was deeply grateful that you had defeated such a foe and brought stability and peace to the surrounding area.
Julianna asked again about your group’s intentions with the book that you had stolen form Ambrose. She seemed adamant that it could not return to Ambrose in light of the allegations that the Mouth of Xexil had made about his Ambrose and the Queen’s ambitions. At last your group agreed to part with the book in exchange for a few magical items AND as much of an update as to the book’s contents as Julianna could provide. She agreed.
During your journey to Sic-Met Kerzha had a vision form her Goddess that seemed to change parts of her relationship with her Goddess but that also reiterated the urgency of this “Shadow monster” that lurked possibly in Kerzha’s future…
When you at last arrived in Sic-Met you spent the day shopping and getting to know the city. A very polite undead fellow named “Prescott” offered himself as a guide for the day if you would listen to a proposal of a job/quest offered by him on behalf of his employer/maker/master?
Your group bought out most everything to be found at the “Betrayer’s Cauldron” and a few interesting items at the “Gilded Purse“. Your group split up to cover more ground.
Keljor went looking for contacts of the Thieve’s guild. His path lead him back toward a very large inn called the “Pride’s Anchor”. Halfway there he felt the presence of a figure who had stepped out of the crowd and was matching his foot-steps. Keljor stopped and faced the person. it was Hilo, the assassin hired by Ambrose Pin to recover his book from the people who had stolen it. Hilo asked if he could have the book back. As a gentleman he wanted to know if this situation could be resolved without him resorting to ‘professional measures”. Keljor said that the book was no longer in their possession. Hilo laughed, he would not be so easily dissuaded from his mark. Hilo asked if he might accompany Keljor and have his companions empty their belongings in-front of Hilo to prove that they no longer carried the book.
Keljor said that his companions would make that choice themselves, and then turned and walked away. A moment later Keljor glanced behind him and Hilo was nowhere to be seen… It is safe to believe that he is now hunting the party in search of this book that he was hired to recover…
Keljor continued with his journey to the bar known as the “Pride’s Anchor’. Inside he noticed a thieves’ guild marking and sat in booth long enough to notice a couple people order a drink called “Dragon’s breath Ale” which was never delivered, then they went downstairs. Keljor did the same, he ordered the drink… waited for a few moments, and then proceeded down the stairs, there he saw maybe 10 people and a single bartender who seemed to be giving orders not taking them…
Keljor slipped 100GP to the barkeep and asked for any information on “Hilo” an assassin. The bar-keep accepted and seemed to rally his followers to the cause immediately. He would deliver information to Keljor at his Bed and breakfast within 24 hours.
Next Agnes and Kerzha went inside a big tent called the ‘Temple of All”. Inside they found a vast variety of religious shrines but they both found one devoted to their God. Agnes met a man named Gen-Sa who taught her much more about how to infuse her cooking with the power of Berty. Kerzha met an old follower of Rythis named Ska-Cha who claimed to have been the “Champion of Rythis” a long time ago. He claimed that he has stopped a civil war with Rythis’ help many years ago. he asked Kerzha to please check on his friends who lived in a tower just North along the coast. they usually check in once a week but he hadn’t heard from them this week. Kerzha accepted.
Meanwhile Tubbs and Fern were asking Prescott about all that he knew about the land and their potential enemies if they accepted his quest to go loot a pyramid in the jungle. Prescott was very helpful in providing information about his country and the Yuan-Ti but…. oddly not very helpful when answering any question about himself or his past. He seems to be unable to recall too much about his own past.
Prescott revealed that the pyramid that he would like you to loot is on consecrated ground. He and his master are unable to cross into that ground but they want the Crystal that can be found in the deepest room of the pyramid. That crystal can be used for “Old magics” that Prescott doesn’t fully understand. Anything else recovered from the pyramid is yours to keep.
Your group ended the day by finishing shopping and heading towards the “Cottage of Takhat” to rent a few rooms for the night.
When would Hilo strike? Is Prescott trustworthy? Only time would tell…
