You began a voyage across the ocean headed west towards the Shallow Grave. During your voyage you each practiced a skill of your choosing and most of you succeeded in gaining a proficiency point in your chosen skill.
You met a very interesting Elf by the name of Juliana Brightwood. She has vibrantly sparkling eyes of many colors and is dressed in a green and grey cape with a knee-high skirt. You’ve noticed two major things about her. She seems to be able to detect magical items that are near her without seeing them AND she casts eldritch blast which indicates that she is a warlock of some sort. After asking her many questions and responding to some of her questions you weren’t able to get information on her master, but she claims that she fights for peace and stability across many countries. She helped your party put together clues about Ambrose Pin.
-He posted a very high bounty on a creature that probably doesn’t exist, possibly as a diversion.
– He, as an envoy to the leaders of Seak’Oria, might mean that the Queen and/or King know about or have ordered his involvement in Schooner Bay
– Someone is going by the name “Iris” and is aiding the cultists… this person is very wealthy and connected to have been able to provide dwarven steel ingots to them AND provide guards to help cover that exchange.
Julianna suspects that Ambrose is up to something.
When you tell her about Ambrose’s book she tries to discover it’s use, but she is baffled as to what the illusionary magic(s) are that hide the books secrets. She very much wants to know what is in the book and tries to buy it but for now your group refused to sell or trade it.
The Shallow Grave
Once you arrived near The Shallow Grave you see a very large dark fog-bank covering a portion of the ocean. And as Captain Telford begins stopping the ship for you all to get off the ship is attacked by 2 mutant creatures and a few large crabs. As soon as the fight is over Captain Telford drops you off and gains some distance between his ship and the swirling fog just beyond. Julianna stays behind to provide some sort of protection for the ship while you are gone.
As you enter the mist in your small row-boat you feel uneasiness and a chill creeping around you, you notice some sharks in the water nearby but the area is dead silent… A massive pyramid looms out of the fog and as you approach you begin to search for a way inside. You ended up having to swim to the ocean floor to fit into a crack down there that allowed you into the mostly submerged pyramid. Inside you found more than twenty aquatic peoples chained and working to open up the lower portion of the pyramid. they were nearly unresponsive and showed signs of abuse and neglect. You released one who wandered into a corner instead of seeking freedom…
As you ascended into the next level of the pyramid you discovered several cultists and “The Mouth of Xexil” a mutant who seemed to lead them. After a brief and violent encounter you forced ‘The Mouth” to retreat and killed the other cultists.
On this level of the pyramid you found carvings showing demonic summonings, a pile of a dozen dead bodies and a few interesting pieces of loot… but what horror awaits in the cavern above?
