In our Third Session we started out by catching up with Labeouf. He has gone back to town. He found the lair of a fiend under the town of West Guard. He began the fight with a few Imps but discovered that they were led by a “Boogieman”. A round one-eyed demonic creature that had been kidnapping children and sacrificing them in order to summon the imps. Labeouf was overwhelmed in combat and the fiends captured him and tied him up.
Meanwhile the rest of the group finished their business at the WestWall and headed back to town. There they met Mrs Whitmire who told them that a man with a bow told her he was headed into the sewer to rescue her son Joey, but that was nearly a day ago! The group found the sewer grate and headed inside to kill the remining fiends and rescue Labeouf. Inside the sewers they found the remains of 3 children and several animals. They also found a magical quiver that could help guide arrows to their targets! Who knows how that got down in there!
The party returned the body of “Joey Whitmire” to his mother, collected a reward from the local law, and then headed over to Wizard Waldon’s to see what sorts of enchantments he might have to offer. After a bit of discussion Waldon asked the party to collect 15 frogs and then return to him. After that task Waldon had successfully removed some of the side-effects of Ayla’s family Wolven Axe of Shifting. He took all of the monster parts that the party had and gave them an amulet that increased AC by 1 for their trouble… then told them to “Get the Hell off his property!”
As the party left Waldon’s they immediately met a friendly half-elf named Agnes, a cleric of the God “Berty”, who was driving her cart Southward away from WestGaurd. The heroes joined her and they traveled the road for 3 days headed to the coast. On the way they came to a crossroads where they met a very odd man named Custer who sold an interesting variety of goods out of a multicolored wagon. The party purchased a variety of goods from him including a wizard spell, a horse, a live chicken, and an apple pie. The party was fairly sure they had gotten decent deals on the items that they purchased even though Custer was clearly eager to haggle. Later during their trip South the heroes were ambushed by 2 hungry bears early one morning but defeated them without much trouble. Unfortunately Labeouf’s pack had been rummaged though and he lost most of his rations. The next day the party finally mounted and then descended the low coastal range. At the top the party got their first glimpse of the Southern coastline of Seak’Oria. That evening as the darkness came on the party met a paladin named Rapheet and his steward, Pepper. The Paladin invited the group to stay at his camp that night and said he had an important matter that he wanted to discuss in the morning. Pepper and Agnes made a quick meal for everyone and then the party went to sleep for the night. No doubt a great quest awaits them in the morning!
